Weddings: Coconino National Forest surrounding Flagstaff Arizona

Who wants to have a wedding inside in Arizona???? Not me!!! I am getting married this summer and it is going to be outside, in the forest. The weather in Flagstaff is sooooooo beautiful in the summer. The Coconino National Forest that surrounds Flagstaff Arizona has long since been a wonderful place for gatherings. The forest is the perfect place to commune with nature, especially when considering marriage. If you and your fiancée are thinking about getting married in the forest around the Flagstaff area, it is best to find the perfect spot, then arrange for a special permit pass. The information below, I Hope, will be helpful to you and your fiancée, if you choose to hold a wedding outside.

A Special Use Permit is required for groups larger than 75 people, or for any size group which charges a fee to attend an event. While a group of less than 75 people may not require a permit, there are some regulations to be aware of.

Each district in the Us National forest are unique, It is recommend that you contact the Ranger District where you intend to hold your wedding for specific information on how to apply and the restrictions that go with the land.

Here are SOME of the things to consider when treking into nature with tons of people.

For any group activity, toilet facilities are required for groups greater than 25 people and/or groups staying longer than 24 hours.
All garbage associated with the event must be picked up AND removed. Incorporate "Leave No Trace" principles during your visit.
Any and all fire restrictions require full compliance, and the group is required to supply adequate water and tools for properly extinguishing any campfires built.
Introduction of non-native species is prohibited. This means, use of birdseed, raised petals; rice, etc. are not allowed.
Some areas of the forest will not accommodate groups due to resource damage. Please contact the district office for information.

Crescent Moon Ranch Cabin: A Coconino National Forest Service Cabin for Rent south of Flagstaff Arizona. This gem is perfect for weddings. It holds up to 50 people comfortably as a reception site and can sleep ten (perfect for the bridal party, Bride, and Groom) This Beautiful cabin is in the heart of Sedona near Cathedral Rock. Beautiful destination spots: Weddings Flagstaff Arizona Area:

Ashurst Lake: Approximately 20 mile southwest of Flagstaff Arizona. The area has 25 camp sites and is at an approximate elevation of 7000 ft. Beaver Creek: Approximately 47 mile south of Flagstaff Arizona. The area has 13 campsites nestled in Arizona sycamores, cottonwoods, and Junipers. The campsites have tables, fire rings, and cooking grills. There is RV parking up to 22 ft. overnight and day use passes apply. Locket Meadow: Approximately 12.5 mile from Downtown Flagstaff, Arizona. A back drop of the San Francisco Peaks in the distance, the Locket Meadow area is 9000 ft. in the Mountain wilderness, surrounded by Aspen Trees. This Area is a perfect destination small Wedding parties. Camping is on a first come basis and limited.

National, State Parks & Monuments: Weddings Flagstaff Arizona Area:

Riordan Mansion State Historic Park: A historic site next to Northern Arizona University. The Address to the Mansion is 409 Riodan Rd. in Flagstaff. The Mansion in 13,000 sqft. with 40 rooms that was built in 1904. For more info. http://www.azstateparks.com/Parks/parkhtml/riordan.html

Grand Canyon National Park: This Large hole in the ground speaks for itself, But did you know that it is a perfect place to have a wedding. The park is only 80 miles from Flagstaff, Arizona. We are officially open for business! MyFlagstaffWedding.com is a wonderful new resource for Brides and Grooms who will be marrying in Flagstaff and the surrounding area.

Flagstaff, Arizona is an amazing place to live. We have been fortunate to have been apart of the Flagstaff wedding community for the past 5 years. Over the years we have gotten many questions from Brides and Grooms living here in Flagstaff. The main questions are always for more information about other wedding vendors in Flagstaff.
